It's named for its large up to 20 inches! triangular, shield shaped leaves, which are a deep, dark green (almost black in some cases) and velvety to the touch, with a contrasting purple y mauve (the color of royalty) underside. This large plant arrives up to 30" tall and can grow up to 5' feet under optimal conditions (it prefers a higher humidity
