Warhawk was the US designation, while the British Commonwealth and Soviets used the Tomahawk designation for their P 40B and C variants and then the Kittyhawk designation for their P 40Ds and later variants. The P 40 served with the British in North Africa and the Middle East early in WWII. Although the
